For this assignment, first read the two assigned narrative articles by Clendenin and Mobley. (Please note where these two authors went to college; one won a national contest, and the other was selected for publication in a composition textbook.) 

After reading the two essays, choose one to write about in your initial post (and respond to at least one person who wrote about the other essay). 

1. Once you have chosen an article, write a post of 250+ words and identify the “point” of the article. How effective was the essay in conveying its point? You should also include details from the narrative to explain how you identified the article’s main point. 

2. Finally, respond to three of your peers’ posts (50+ words per reply) – and, be sure to reply to at least one person who wrote about the article that you did not write about. Doing this will ensure that you have thought deeply about both readings. In your replies, you may agree or disagree with your classmate’s reading of the article, but add something new to his or her comments.

In other words, don’t simply write something like, “I agree! Good job! I think you really hit the nail on the head by identifying this as the main point…” Note that someone could write such a general comment without even reading the post; you want to interact with your peers on a deeper level.
