Reflection Essay: After reading both Martin Luther King, Jr.’s "Letter from the Birmingham Jail," and his "I Have a Dream" speech, write a 700-800-word essay that a) briefly summarizes both the letter and speech, b) using examples from both writings discuss Dr. King’s vision for a better America, and c) answer the question: "how was Christian faith a part of his vision?" In other words, how did Dr. King think religious belief or faith might influence political equality for people of all races, but especially African-Americans? Be sure to support your argument with specific examples from both of Dr. King’s writings and/or any of the other assigned study materials for week 7. DO NOT use any outside resources.
