This is a two-part assignment, For this assignment, consider an older adult to be someone over the age of 65.  You should write two paragraphs for each part.

Part One:  As you watch shows on tv or other media platforms, pay attention to the commercials that involve older adults.  What is being sold to them?  What personality traits or lifestyle situations are being portrayed?  In your opinion, how does this reflect stereotypes that many people hold about older adults?  Is it an accurate portrayal?

Part two:  Do you think that the media portrayal of these stereotypes influences how we think about older adults?  In what ways?  What suggestions do you have of ways to change this?
