Write a 3-4 page paper in which you discuss a significant theme in either the Confessions of Saint Augustine or in the hagiographical works we read in Week 2. You can cite the sources you quote, summarize or paraphrase by using the MLA in-text citation style, with a full bibliographic entry in a works cited page. I have posted a short guide from Purdue University libraries on Moodle.

For the Confessions: Choose a theme that is an important element of this work and that appears in at least two books. Discuss at least two events or passages that relate to this theme and use these examples to demonstrate of Augustine’s goals for the book. For example, how does it show his own spiritual progression or change in theological understanding? What larger point it Augustine trying to convey?
