Write a scholarly review of one of the required texts treated in this class. The book review should be approximately 3-5 pages long. This is
NOT a summary, but rather a scholarly evaluation of the book in question. Here is how the review should be restructured.
- Title: You do not need to create an original title for the review. The title of the book review simply contains the author, title, and citation information.
- Paragraph 1: Identify the author’s thesis or the main points s/he aims to make.
- Paragraphs 2-4: Provide a concise summary of the book. A chapter-by-chapter summary is preferred, as this will offer sufficient evidence that you adequately engaged the material.
- Paragraph 5: Discuss the sources the author used to support his/her thesis. <— PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT FORGET THIS
- Final Paragraph: Tell whether the author achieved his or her objective.
