As of today, my internship at Delconte is teaching and developing numerous skills that I had no clue I possessed, as well as assisting me in my professional development. For example, I’ve discovered that family participation and the children’s life when they’re in placement have  a major impact on their behavior, learning growth, and capacity to follow directions. Being able to notice different aspects of their behavior and different approaches to help them feel more at ease to open up, I learned to be patient with them as well.As I engaged and studied in a professional environment of the agency , the internship also assisted me in integrating my classroom concepts into real-world instruments for trade. In addition, an internship is clearly defined as a company and student exchange of services in return for experience. A formal and formative basis for a career is an internship. Some of the necessary "soft skills" that can only be learned while on the job are workplace teamwork, good communication tactics, and corporate decorum (Maio). The internship experience has not only helped me build my professionalism, but it has also motivated me to grow as a person. In today’s job market, most companies place a higher importance on personal traits than professional expertise.  My internship had a tremendous impact on my personality, which helped me develop qualities like dedication, self-motivation, and honesty. In  addition, one skill I learned from my supervisor  is  how to be indispensable and modest to my bosses.which help with  update, daily check up with the staff and progress of each one of the children . For example, if one of them has restitution, had a crisis and which also helps in monitoring them better .I feel that these lessons will stick with me as I advance in my profession. For the remainder of my internship, I hope to have more practice with treatment plans, monitoring, and being more comfortable writing progress notes, as well as having more knowledge on how to intervene in crisis situations, , because I have learned new things that will be useful in my life and future work.
