1. Decide on a public health topic of interest.
2. Define the public health problem. What is the prevalence of this disease? How many people are affected by the disease in the US vs. worldwide?
3. Identify the risk factors for the disease. Identify any protective factors (i.e., factors that may reduce your disease risk) that may exist.
4. Develop an intervention that addresses all levels of the socioecological model. This intervention should have multiple strategies to reduce or prevent the spread of the disease.
5. Describe how you would implement and monitor the effectiveness of the intervention. For example, what workers may be needed to implement community-level interventions? How much funding may be needed? What organizations or policies may need to change or be created to implement this intervention?
You will need to synthesize these findings into a minimum 2-page paper. The paper should be double-spaced, 12-point Arial/Times New Roman font, with 0.5 inch margins. Please cite any sources that are used and include a reference page.
