6 to 8 page paper following APA 7 format

This will be part of a literature review chapter for a PhD dissertation. The overall dissertation is focused on how low-income Federally Qualified Health Centers train and educate their staff on providing culturally competent care to marginalized communities (specifically BIPOC and LGBTQ).

Things to include in the paper/section:

Approximately 2 to 3 pages on:

Key factors that led up to the passing of the ACA – social, political, etc. Why did the ACA happen?

What models were used in crafting the legislation – Massachusetts, others?

What were the expressed purpose and goals of the ACA around the time of it being passed?

What happened within the first couple of years after passage – key indicators, successes, failures, changes or amendments to the legislation, changes in the way health systems and health insurers do business…

Approximately 4 to 5 pages on:

Successes of the ACA – increases in the number of uninsured that now have coverage,

Has the ACA helped to address health disparities/health inequities? How?

Research (if there is any) that looks at how the ACA has helped (or not) improve the health of communities of color (BIPOC) in the US?

Research (if there is any) that looks at how the ACA has helped (or not) improve the health for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer identified individuals (LGBTQ)

Are there any provisions within the ACA that focus on training/education of health care providers on providing culturally competent care? If so, describe. Look at section 5307 of the ACA.

Are there any provisions within the ACA that focus on diversifying the health care workforce (increasing scholarships for BIPOC students to enter health professions training programs, funding for programs such as the national health service corps, etc.).

NOTE: Given that this is part of the dissertation literature review (review of existing empirical research), please pull from peer-reviewed literature (journal articles, dissertations, etc.) as much as possible
