This week, our workshops focus on conceptualization and operationalization. We will take up each of these processes during a class period.

Conceptualization 

Create diagrams for two concepts that are central to your research question. Each diagram should include a definition of a concept, identification of at least two dimensions of the concept, identification of at least two variables that capture aspects of a dimension, and identification of potential indicators for your variables. You are welcome to use this template, or to create your own diagram. Upload a file with your final diagrams (you can submit a scan or photo if you hand-draw your diagram). template is attached below. 

Operationalization ()

Write three open-ended questions and four closed-ended questions that would elicit reports from participants to measure variables in your study. For your closed-ended questions, include response categories. Make sure your response categories are exhaustive. If the categories are not mutually exclusive, include a rationale.
