You are ready to go explore the world and try to capture your own decisive moment. Initially, after brainstorming about possible times and places where you can capture this moment, you might want to try simply walking around your home, neighborhood, or school and looking for that moment to capture.

Choose an outdoor public location where you can take a beautiful photograph when the right action occurs. Sit and wait, inconspicuously, for the right shapes to appear in your frame and then take the shot. If you need to try a few times to get a good ‘decisive moment’ photograph, that is fine. But aim to just shoot one photo at a time—not a series in a short time.

Maybe you have a sporting event or birthday party coming up—jot down a variety of moments that could be captured and fit the definition of a decisive moment. Then, attend these events with your camera, ready to snap away!

You will write describing, explaining, and analyzing the image that you took. Make sure to clearly identify why this is a decisive moment and how it conveys the essence of the entire situation.
