1. Describe the news story to your superior in a business email with proper grammar, a salutation, and sentences.
2. Explain to your supervisor that you are taking a law class and that if you had read this story a week to ten days ago (before starting this class), your reaction would have been different (and how so) and then explain why given what you know now, your reaction is different.
3. Explain to your supervisor why the news is important to your actual work or to some fictional business at which you work and why you are bringing it to your supervisors attention.
4. Explain to your supervisor how this news-story relates to something you learned in class, using legal concepts from class and how the outcome of the story can affect your business.
5. Explain what court is involved (if one is involved), where it is physically located, what type of court is involved, and what type of events are likely to follow (trial, state, federal, appellate, no next step?) For example, will there be a start to litigation, discovery, a summary judgment motion, a trial, or an appeal for example? Can you tell from the news story? If the story does not involve a court, fully explain to your supervisor how it relates to sources of law or some other concept we studied in class.
