Find an Integrative Medical Center/hospital and review what CAM therapies they offer.  (Example: Cleveland Clinic - 

Choose a CAM therapy in a topic that we have looked at(Mind-Body; Botanical; Energy Medicine).  Such as something offered at the Clevelnad Clinic or at another Integrative Medicine place that you explored). Topics such as:

Yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, Aromatherapy, Guided imagery, Meditation – various types, Herbs (not marijuana), Essential oils, Homeopathy (if an ND works there and uses it), TT, Reiki

Watch your sources of information! Remember the CRAAP test. Do not use articles / websites that wouldn’t pass this test. Use at least 3 sources, with at least two found on your own (not posted articles).

Include the following in your paper:

(30 pts) Describe your chosen therapy  – define what it is; describe its history; what is the theeory behind how it works?

(20 pts) Research evidence  – what’s it used for? (what conditions is it used to treat?) Proven effective? (Look for scientific studies from credible sources; not anecdotes), summarize the research data, include links in the reference section.

(10 pts) Benefits of using this therapy

(10pts) Risks of using this therapy

(5 pts) What kind of training is involved to use this therapy or to dispense or perform this therapy on others?

(15 pts) Your overall thoughts about using this therapy – Do you think it’s ok to use/do in an integrative medicine setting? What about using it alone (as an alternative medicine) -  for yourself or family member? Use information from the class and your own research to inform your opinions; reflect that information in your answers.
