Online Paper 1: Barbara 1990 In The Romeroverse and Fast Zombie Survival Plan

It seems that Dr. I.M.A. Quack has gotten past his obsession with the initial three George Romero movies, but now he is focused on more recent zombie movies. He just can’t seem to let go of that deep-rooted fear that the zombie apocalypse is around the corner. It might seem silly and ridiculous, but his ideas and plans might come in handy some day. So Dr. Quack has recently watched the three movies that were assigned for this week, so he has come up with a two part essay in which he has again requested/demanded your help.

He reminds you all that you must DO BOTH PARTS OF THIS ESSAY. The first has to do with the character of Barbara from Night of the Living Dead 1990 and the second is to come up with a survival plan to deal with fast zombies based on the events of Another World and Dead Set.

Here are the Details:

Part 1: Barbara 2.0 (the 1990 version) In the Romeroverse

After having watched Night of the Living Dead 1990, Dr. Quack was extremely impressed with the revised character of Barbara who is a much more kick ass / take no prisoners character than the 1968 original. Dr. Quack believes her to be the Ultimate Survivor out of the first four zombie movies we’ve watched. But Dr. Quack is curious to know how Barbara 2.0 would have fared in the George Romero Trilogy we’ve watched the past three weeks. He wants you to take Barbara 2.0 and imagine what might have happened if she appeared in each of the George Romero directed films of Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead. How would someone with her attitude and determination potentially change things in the three original films? You are free to use your imaginations to your heart’s content here.

Part 2: Fast Zombie Survival Plan

Now to a really challenging one. You have all developed plans for battling slow zombies based on the George Romero Trilogy. But now Dr. Quack wants your help to develop a survival plan to deal with the existence of fast zombies. He wants you to use both Another World and Dead Set to develop these plans. He expects you to again take a close look at the details of the two movies and use them as part of the foundation do develop your plans. He wants you to give specific examples from both films. Dr. Quack also wants to know if there are elements from the Romeroverse Zombie Survival Plan that can work in a world of fast zombies. He wishes you the best of luck in your efforts and reminds you that you are going to help save the future (at least in Quackerbarrel Mind).
