GUIDELINES FOR THE INDIVIDUAL PROJECT

1. You are required to write a paper that focuses on problem solving and decision making in organizations. You will select the topic among a list of topics provided by the instructor during the second week of class.
2. Write a paper of approximately 7 to 10 pages excluding the title page, the table of contents page, and appendices. The written paper should include the following parts: a title page, a table of contents page, an introduction, the body of the text, a conclusion, and a list of references (when applicable). The references section should start on a separate page. The list of references should be presented by alphabetic order of the authors last names following the Academy of Management Publication Guidelines. Example: Christensen, C. M. 2002. The past and future of competitive advantage. Sloan Management Review, 42(3): 105-109. If the source cited is a book, underline the book title and give the location of the publisher. Example: Dess, G. G., & Lumpkin, G. T. 2003. Strategic management. New York: McGraw-Hill. For an on-line source, write the authors name, the title of the publication, the web address, and the date you retrieved the source. Also, underline the web address. Example: Armas, G. C. 2002. Census figures point to changes in Congress. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wpdyn/articles/A58952Dec28.html (as of December 28, 2002).
3. In addition to the written paper, students will make a presentation of 15 minutes in class. Use PowerPoint for your presentation and dress business-like.
