Purpose: For students to be able to write a factual and evidence-packed business report. 

Assignment: You work as a consultant and your boss has approached you with a task. She informs you that you have just signed a new client and wants you to research as much as you can in order to bring the rest of the team up to date. (Pick any company you would like to learn more about and pretend that they are the so-called "client,")

Format: The report should include the following subheaders:

• Introduction - Explain the purpose of the report, the topic, and include what the reader will find within the report. (This can be short and sweet, only a few sentences is needed)
• Background - Who is the company? What do they do? What are important findings about them? Who are their target customers? This should be all of the information you think your team should know about the client. What do they sell? What are the features? Branding? Function? 
• Geographic/Market Analysis - Where does the company operate? What are some external factors that might affect business? (i.e. political, economic, social, technological, legal, environmental…)
• Industry Analysis - What is the industry they operate in? What are some of the trends? Customer preferences? Feel free to use tools from other classes here to help if you find them useful. 
• Competition Analysis - Who are key competitors? What are they doing in the industry? How do they compare to the topic company? 
• Conclusion - Summarize your overall findings.
• References (does not count towards page count)
• Appendices (does not count towards page count)

Seeing as this is a factual, evidence-based report, I am NOT looking for recommendations. I am looking to see how you research information, organize, and present it. How does it flow? Is it relevant? Is it cited correctly? (This is important, as you will be frquently asked by colleagues where you found your information). 

Paper should be ~5 pages. 1.5 spaced. Sized 12 Font (Times New Roman). Any additional charts should be in the appendix and called on as exhibits in the paper. Include References in APA format.
