Would You Deny Someone Health Care?

Assignment: Your assignment for this section is to write a (1) paragraph summary of the questions listed below. This assignment should be composed using your own words. There are no right and wrong answers as long as you are on topic.

Your paragraph must be at least 8 sentences in length with a maximum of 12 sentences. This assignment is worth 20 points and will be graded on an “All or Nothing” basis. If the paragraph does not contain at least 8 sentences you will receive no credit.

There is a lot of debate in our society about whether undocumented/illegal immigrants should receive any type of free health care. In addition, some people also think that U.S. citizens who are unable to pay should not receive care. In theory, this practice makes sound financial sense but does it represent the values of the masses?

Questions: If you were in charge of the medical facility:

1. Would YOU be able to look a sick undocumented/illegal immigrant in the face and refuse to give them medical care if they could not pay for the care? Why or why not?
