Evidence-Based Best Practice
Nurse leaders must utilize the most up-to-date, the most effective, the most relevant information and skills to tend to the holistic needs of the patient. Nurse leaders cannot simply rest on previous experience and background knowledge, rather nurse leaders must continually grow and evolve to provide the best patient care. This growth and evolution comes directly from a focus on evidence-based practices.
This Discussion will allow you the opportunity to consider current evidence-based practices and how these practices will help you evaluate issues and implement change.

To prepare:
• Review concepts outlined in Chapter 11.
• Consider how the concepts connect with the selected organization.
• Consider current evidence-based practices that would address the issues.

Post a response in which you:
• Select two of the four concepts discussed in Chapter 11 (staff engagement, retention, followership, and effective teams).
• Identify any concerns or issues within the organization related to your selections.
• Evaluate current evidence-based best practices and create a recommendation for addressing your two issues.
