A diverse workforce can better understand shifting customer needs and connect with stakeholders. This breakout session will emphasize your unique differences in a team setting.
For the point of this discussion, you will evaluate your key traits and discuss how different they are from your peer group.
Think about yourself in a business setting. Generate a list of six ways that you have felt different from others. This list can be about anything from your experiences, skills, generation (age), culture, interests, personality, hobbies, military experience, or whatever you believe makes you different from your peer group.
As a team discussion, answer the following:
How does being different from the group make you feel?
Which differences (out of your six) are you most proud of? Why?
Which difference do you tend to downplay to fit in? Why?
How may your team differences contribute to company innovation?
