introduction to sociology

Paper #1 Voter Suppression.  View the film, “All In: the fight for democracy.”  In the film, “All In,” Stacey Abrams talks about democracy and the right of every citizen to vote, but some groups make access to voting difficult.  They put barriers in the way so that access to voting becomes a project, it becomes something to overcome.  Abrams makes many arguments about the right to vote.
This sociology course gives you an overview of society and groups and attempts to explain the social world.  Your assignment here is to connect the courses theoretical knowledge with your lived reality, your experience.

With that in mind, choose one point that Abrams makes and talk about it.  First, describe the point or argument you have chosen.  Then, explain your reasons for selecting it.  Use knowledge from the film to continue your ideas.  Do you relate to her argument personally?  Have you seen news reports and images covering past elections?  What is your personal experience voting?   Recount the experience of others that you know who voted.
Your paper will be one page.  Single space within paragraphs and double space between paragraphs.  One-inch margins.  Because the paper is one page,  you must organize your thoughts, write an outline and then write a draft.
