In this assignment, you’ll explore wildlife disease.  Supplement your lecture notes with additional references to answer the following set of questions.  Choose a species of wildlife that is affected by disease here in Florida to answer the following questions.

[1] What wildlife and disease did you select?  

[2] Briefly describe how the species becomes infected by the disease.  What are the symptoms?  

[3] Is the disease thought to be a limiting factor in Florida, or does it pose any particular conservation concerns?

[4] In lecture, we identified 6 general strategies for disease management.  How are these six strategies currently being used to combat the disease (or, how might they be)?  In answering this question, simply provide an example for your selected species and disease.

Note: This assignment is meant to get you to think beyond the lecture notes, though depending on the species you choose possible answers are there or in the supplementary materials.  You may use any external resources to help answer these questions, but please write your answers in your own words.  Please include a list of any references you consult (providing the web addresses is acceptable).  When using external references, be sure you’re not plagiarizing (i.e. absolutely no copy-pasting, even if you edit the text); make sure the work is your own.   Excluding references, your answers should be one paragraph each.  You will be graded on the level of detail and completeness you provide (see rubric).
