Licensure requirements vary by state; therefore, it is YOUR responsibility to fully investigate the requirements for licensure in your state. DO NOT SIMPLY COPY AND PASTE REQUIREMENTS FROM YOUR BOARD’S WEBSITE. This does not demonstrate that you actually understand what you have to do.
You need to be able to demonstrate both knowledge and understanding of the requirements. This means you will need to elaborate and elucidate the requirements.
In addition to your text book, be sure to include other scholarly sources (i.e., NO search engines, wikis, personal websites, etc.) to support your thoughts on the implications of obtaining state licensure and growing in your professional identity.
