This assignment will allow you to begin to evaluate your skills related to research and scholarly writing that you explored during Weeks 1 and 2.

Your task this week is to develop a brief description of potential skills you would like to strengthen, questions or concerns you have identified, and strategies to utilize NCU resources.

Then, prepare a paper in which you address the following points:

Explain any concerns you have about scholarly writing or researching. This may include a discussion of skills, or questions about your topic area or theory contribution. Describe how the Week 2 readings informed your self-evaluation.

Summarize available NCU resources related to these concerns.

Explain your plans for utilizing these resources or additional strategies throughout your doctoral program.

To complete the assignment, you have two options:

Option 1 (Preferred) – Schedule a phone call or Skype session with your professor during the third week of the course. During that session, discuss the issues above; share your thoughts, ideas, concerns, and plans with her or him. Then, compose a summary of your discussion to submit. Be sure your paper also addresses the points above, including how the weekly readings informed your self-evaluation. Unless you have obtained permission to communicate through email (Option 2), be sure to contact your professor in a timely manner to schedule a time to complete this assignment before the Sunday due date.

Option 2 – If a phone call or Skype session (the preferred option) is not possible (e.g., scheduling conflicts, etc.), a second option for completion of this assignment is to post a discussion to professor during the third week of the course. In the Course Discussion Board, share your thoughts, ideas, concerns, and plans with her or him. Your professor will respond to your post in the discussion board, and invite you to post follow-up questions or comments. Then, composure a summary of the discussion board correspondence to submit to the dropbox. Do not copy and paste the discussion board correspondence. Summarize the content of the communication and address the points above, including how the weekly readings informed your self-evaluation.

Using your NCU account, send your professor an email notifying them which option you have chosen to complete this assignment. If there are issues with your NCU email account, please contact the IT helpdesk to resolve them so that you can send this notification to your professor.
