The selected article should be discussing plans a company is making in regards to marketing, that is introducing a new product or brand extension, new pricing policies, new channels of distribution or new IMC campaigns. Each executive summary should follow the format below and include the following items if you wish to receive full credit: BACKGROUND INFORMATION Provide background information on the company and the industry environment. Briefly describe the company’s product-line or services offered. Identify key competitors (additional research may be required for this). KEY ISSUE or PROBLEM State and describe the problem or issue that the company or brand faces (in other words, why are they doing this activity?). ANALYSIS and GOALS OF NEW PLAN: Offer a brief explanation or analysis of what the company has decided to Implement, stating particular objectives and goals of the company. EXPECTED RESULTS: Explain expected results and offer your opinion as to whether you agree or disagree the activity will help achieve them, and why. ARTICLE/WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT: Attach the magazine, newspaper or website article to your Executive Summary. The summary MUST be limited to one page plus an attached cover page and working link to or copy of the article.
