The Speech script will be based on the thesis statement from the annotated bibliography that I made the order with you.

 I want you to write me the speech script for 4~5 min. I would really appreciate if you could give me some breif Power Point Slide that can support the presentation. I am not US-native speaker so that I don’t speak that fast.

Your specific challenges for this assignment include further incorporating your skills of audience analysis and good delivery into an engaging presentation that follows a specific pattern of organization and uses specific types of explanatory techniques to teach your audience about your topic. The idea is to EXPLAIN a technical topic of interest to you with a novice audience. This assignment requires excellent audience analysis in order to provide information at a level the audience can process, understand, and enjoy. You will also need to demonstrate proficiency at designing and utilizing a visual aid that follows the Assertion Evidence guidelines.

 

Speech Specific Requirements:

·          Time limit: 5-6 minutes

·          You will develop a presentation based on the research you conduct for your annotated bibliography. Choose the most important information from your research and present those ideas to your audience. You will need to narrow the scope of the presentation. You may not be able to cover all the material you read for your annotated bibliography, so be selective.

·          You must orally cite at least five different sources from your annotated bibliography.

·          Decide whether you want to craft a quasi-scientific, transformative, or elucidating explanation and incorporate tools such as examples, analogies, and metaphors

·          You will need to develop an introduction, conclusion and thesis statement.

·          Demonstrate skillful use of organization, directional transitions, and signposts.

·          Present the information in a way that matches the audience’s knowledge and experience. 

·          Speaking style should be extemporaneous and demonstrate effective physical and vocal delivery.

·          Deliver using a professional visual aid the follows Assertion Evidence guidelines.

o   Did you fully develop an introduction and conclusion?

o   Was an identifiable organizational pattern present and transitions used to enhance flow?

o   Was a comprehensive explanation provided?

·       Credibility

o   Did you project credibility by using refined delivery?

o   Did you accurately cite each source?

·       Audience Analysis

o   Is the material tailored, interesting, and relevant to our audience of undergraduates in the College of Science?

o   Did you define jargon that not all audience members may understand?

o   Were slides created to enhance audience understanding?
