Read up to page 45 (the first paragraph break on the page) of Roberto Calasso’s The Unnamable Present. 

Please respond to this reading by doing the following: 

Find two paragraphs or short sections of the text and break them down in your response. Consider what Calasso is saying, and what connections he is making. For instance, why does Calasso claim that “secular terror” is the ultimate form of terrorism? What connection does Calasso draw between the internet and terror? What is secular society, and why could it also be called “experimental society”? Who is Henry Kissinger, and why does Calasso bring him up?

I recommend doing some light research on the several sections of text at which you choose to look more closely. The above examples are just an idea of how you might approach the book. This assignment should be between two and four paragraphs of writing.
