*fisrt 1: In my opinion, those who accuse crimes do not receive enough discipline and get protected too much in this day and age. I know certain states have their restrictions on what they do with their perpetrator, however, on certain occasions those laws should be overruled. An example of this that I will give is Nikolas Cruz. For those who may not know, on February 14, 2018, Cruz was responsible for taking the lives of 17 students and faculty at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He, as well, injured 17 individuals and left the families of these poor victims to suffer. This case, has been ongoing for 4 years, which in my opinion, is way too much for someone who opened fire in a high school. Ted Bundy was executed in the electric chair in 1989 in Florida State Prison. Although this method took 10 years to finally happen, it still should not have taken that long and Cruz should be granted the same execution process. It is completely unfair that the victim’s families have to deal with the fact that he is still alive.

As for the victims, as far as their rights, should definitely be able to get more rights. Victims tend to suffer with feeling like something is there fault, and they should never feel like that. The victim is never wrong. Making the victim feel guilty, and not understanding their side of the story is the most difficult thing. One main right a victim should receive, is making sure their family and loved ones are protected from the accused.

**second one : I personally don’t think those accused of crimes receive too many protections. My main argument for this would be in the way in which our judicial systems our supposed to be operating is under, which is innocent until proven guilty. It’s so important that we remember this and take into account the severity of situations like this. There’s people everyday being accused for crimes in which they did not commit. The accusations and controversy that surrounds this alone is enough to ruin someone’s life, if we removed even more of the projections that the accused receive it would turn our judicial system into something it should never be. Even if proven innocent there often is a residual impact left from the accusations that could ruin ones career and reputation. You can even look at the Johnny Depp Amber Heard situation as an example. Both have accused one another of domestic violence and abuse, yet it’s just Depp who is receiving major repercussions for actions that have yet to be proven innocent or guilty. He’s being chastised by the media, had Disney drop his contract, and is having his career ruined over an accusations that have the potential to be false. A bigger issue that would arise from this argument and I think what really makes these protections so important would be how we see innocent people everyday in low income areas being profiled and being sentenced away for crimes they did not commit. Removing the little protections that these people have would only make this situation so much worse. We can look at Kamilia Harris and her actions as the district attorney in San Francisco. She was profiling people based upon the areas they lived and locking them up with little to no evidence, based upon the smallest accusations. Many of which who were sentenced to years in prison before being able to appeal their cases and prove themselves innocent.
