1. Employee empowerment from my understandingis giving freedom to your employees. Without the need of supervision they becomeindependent and accountable for their own actions.
2. Byputting them on training for decision making, knowing the risk you take beforeyou make a decision and even knowing if the risk is worth it for the reward. Also knowing the company guidelines, building a better relationship withconsumers and knowing intensively what the company is.
3. Well yes,by giving the employees more leeway on decision making, some of them ourinexperienced and doesn’t fully grasp the risk by decision making. But the experiencethat they get can make them a better employee.
4. Yes.Because given the freedom to do what you think is best for the company can giveyou motivation. The reason that im saying all of this is that they trust youenough to do know better if it’s gonna benefit all. What isemployee empowerment?
Employeeempowerment is the act of an employer empowering their employees to make theirown decisions when deal with day to day responsibilities. I personally feelthis is especially important when dealing with customer concerns. If a problemarises with a customer employees should be able to come to a solution if needed;this take some of the immediate responsibility off of upper and lowermanagement.
2. What kinds of information cancompanies provide employees to help them share decision-making responsibility?
In order foremployees to be able to share decision making responsibility, a company mustfirst provide adequate training. Without proper training an employee cannot beexpected to make the correct decision when dealing with a problem. Making theright decision, requires knowledge and understanding of company policies;without this knowledge companies run the risk of making unnecessary mistakes.
3. Are there risks related toempowerment?
While it maybe a benefit for employees to be empowered it can also cause some problems fromtime to time. Empowered employees have the ability to make decisions howeverthe lack of experience and or the lack of knowledge can lead to bad decisionmaking and mistakes when it comes to dealing with customers. Customersatisfaction is always the goal and because of that an empowered employee maygo above and beyond to help the customer to the detriment of company policy.
4. Were the employees in the videoempowered? Explain.
Theemployees in the video were definitely not empowered. When it came to dealingwith the customer concern, which could have easily been resolved, the employeesimmediately looked to management for help. Since the product was damaged it wasobvious that something needed to be done to rectify the problem, but instead ofthinking of a solution the employee place all of the responsibility onmanagement.
