Hi School is one of the worst places on earth! I am not only speaking from personal experiences. In your readings on “rampage” they show how because of the culture of high school, how it is structured, violence and sufferings are a predictable consequence. 

Did you know?

• Nearly 3 million crimes occur on or around American school campuses. This amounts to 16,000 crimes per school day or about 1 every 6 seconds when schools are in session.
• Surveys conducted by the Horatio Alger Association found that in 1999 only 37% of students said they have always felt safe in school, compared to 44% in 1998.
• In a Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey on social issues, 58% of respondents ranked youth violence as their top concern.

Question:
Students across schools described the existence of “cliques” and social hierarchies in their school. How can cliques cause problems for teens? How do cliques help reproduce class, gender, and race inequality?
