This project will give you an opportunity to show that you understand the concepts in chapter 3 (more specifically sections 3.1-3.3). Follow all directions given below. You will be graded based on how well you followed directions and the correctness of your work.
Go to the following website http://print-graph-paper.com/virtual-graph-paper and watch the video on how to use the virtual graph paper.
Pay special attention to the part about printing at the end.
Draw an x-axis and a y-axis and label your units.
You can count by whatever units you would like. I chose to count by units of 1/5 in the example below but you can count by ones if you would like, or whatever else.
Draw a picture of anything you would like with the following conditions.
It must be classroom appropriate.
Your picture must include two vertical line segments, two horizontal line segments, two line segments with positive slope, and two line segments with negative slope. (Note: You can obviously draw more than these 8 segments, just make sure the 8 required segments are incorporated somewhere in the drawing.)
Your picture must sit in at least two different quadrants. The endpoints of your line segments must be found in at least two quadrants as well.
Use the text option to label the endpoints of the 8 segments required in part 3).
The example I posted below only has 5 points labeled to give you an idea. You need to label the endpoints of all 8 line segments.
Print your picture to a pdf.
The video shows you how to print the graph paper. You dont need to print it on physical paper. Instead, when you go to print, change the destination to save as pdf.
Find the equations of the 8 lines containing the line segments required in part 3).
For each line, state the endpoints you labeled and show the work of finding the equation.
This includes calculating the slope for each line using the slope formula.
You should hand write this on your own paper. Make sure it is legible.
Scan your work to a pdf and upload along with the virtual graph paper pdf.
Notes:
You must show ALL work.
This project is due by 11:59pm on Sunday, February 27th, 2022. Do not wait until the last minute to upload it, after 11:59pm it will be considered late regardless of technical issues.
Late policy: For each day the assignment is late you will lose ten points. So if submitted on February 28th you will lose 10 points, if submitted on February 29th you will lose 20 points, etc.
